Cookies and browser storage
NOVA Forever uses cookies to sign you in and protect the Discord login process. It also remembers selected preferences in your browser. Contact NOVA at [email protected] with questions.
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
forever_session cookie | Connects your browser to your signed-in account | Up to seven days; the current session ends on sign-out |
forever_oauth cookie | Checks the Discord login callback and remembers its language | Up to ten minutes; removed when the callback is handled |
| Local storage | Remembers menu appearance, notification sound, a selected character role, recent navigation entries and completed guide steps | Until you change the preference or clear browser storage; no automatic expiry is configured |
| Session storage | Remembers the active guided-tour step | Browser session; removed when the tour stops |
Login cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Public HTTPS operation uses Secure cookies. They are used for authentication and login protection rather than advertising.
The application does not currently include advertising or analytics trackers. This does not mean that hosting, delivery services or Discord keep no connection logs. Loading Discord-hosted images or visiting Discord to sign in also involves Discord's services and their policies.
You can block cookies or clear website storage through your browser. Blocking login cookies prevents normal sign-in. Clearing local storage resets remembered preferences and guide progress. Signing out ends your current login session; it does not delete all browser preferences or account records.
Optional preference storage and sign-in cookies serve different purposes. Contact [email protected] with questions about browser storage or hosting and delivery services.
